Mackie’s of Scotland is a 4th generation family business that began producing our award winning real dairy ice cream back in 1986 on the 1,600 acre farm based at Westertown, near Rothienorman. We are now the No.1 selling brand in Scotland. The milk comes from our own herd of cows and onsite we make our own ice cream tubs and inclusions, such as honeycomb that is all powered using generated renewable energy supplied by our wind turbines and solar farm.
In 2009 we undertook an extension to the Mackie’s brand through a joint venture with the Taylor family in Errol (near Dundee) to produce premium crisps. Available in large 150g and single 40g pack sizes in over 10 different flavours. More recently we also added Mackie’s popcorn to our portfolio in 2016.
In a further extension in 2014 we also began producing Chocolate bars available in milk and dark varieties (now in 120g bars). Finally the most recent addition to our company was the opening of our first retail ice cream parlour unit back in December 2017 at the new Marischal Square development in Aberdeen, which offers over 30 artisan ice cream flavours to the public.
