Murdoch Allan

Murdoch Allan is a third generation baker. In 1991 Murdoch and Caroline acquired Cross Street, Fraserburgh with Paul learning the trade. Paul joined the partnership at 18 years old and they purchased Robbs Bakers Strichen,1995.  2001 saw the investment of Murdoch Allan Turriff. 

A major investment for a small local baker. 2002 was a huge expansion for Murdoch Allan, purchasing the Mcvities biscuit division at Hatton. Started supply to Mcvities with snack pack and shortbread products. Paul's grandad served his time and worked at Hatton, this was a truly proud moment to take over this bakery.

2006 landed a major contract supplying major multiples which has grown over the years, Asda, Sainsbury, coop, Iceland, McColl’s, Makro and very recently Morrisons.

After a few years of growth 2015 brought the acquisition of Thains Bakery in Aberdeen, where we continue to grow and build both business currently employing 185 people.The Pittodrie pie has been a huge success for the business and on the impact of our staff. Who are immensely proud of their team.

We currently supply our own six retail shops. We are very blessed in our business to have time served and skilled bakers, we are passing these skills onto the next generation.
