About 9 years ago I discovered I was intolerant to gluten and dairy. I wasn't happy with the quality of the cakes and bakes available in shops for those who have food allergies and intolerances, so I started baking and experimenting with different recipes. The first successful cupcakes I made were based on After Eights, and were chocolate mint with a chocolate icing. The twist was these were dairy and gluten free - and tasty!
I started making cupcakes to take to parties and events and soon realised that people really enjoyed them, and often couldn't tell they were Free From cakes.
Although the selection and availability of Free From products in supermarkets has certainly improved since I first stopped eating wheat and gluten, I still feel nothing beats homemade, which is why I have set up Rockin' Robyn's Bakery from my home.
I now attend regular events in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Angus, Dundee and Stirling and have expanded into vegan cakes, cookies and cupcake jars.
